FS Scholarship in Imperial College London

Scholarships Fellowships we offer are limited and highly competitive. You must have sufficient funds in place before enrolling in your course. Unless stated otherwise, advertised scholarships are only available to prospective students submit full-time. Awards generally will begin on the first day of the academic year that you have applied for the October 1, 2011. Only if you meet all eligibility criteria (ie, if you meet the requirements of the scholarship) will you be able to apply. Zonta International Amelia Earhart Scholarships Fellowship


Scholarships Fellowship of U.S. $ 10,000, given to 35 Fellows around the world each year, can be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in this field.

The Scholarships Fellowships initially provide 24 months of funding. The fellowships may be further extended, depending on the progress of the projects, with the possibility of a regular employment thereafter. Furthermore, depending on the candidate’s background, the positions provide the opportunity to graduate.

Responsibilities
Scholarships Fellowships Assistance in the scientific coordination and knowledge management of EU-projects is a challenging assignment with a wide range of responsibilities, thus providing the formidable opportunity for a dynamic scientist to broaden his or her horizon, covering all administrative and scientific aspects associated with such projects. Duties include:
- Interfacing between researchers, project management, and the project coordinator
- Preparation of documents, slides, reports, publications, and yearly plans including deliverables and milestones
- Co-organisation of meetings and provision of follow-ups
- Participation in meetings, preparation of presentations, and presentation of results

VU Scholarships Fellowships for International Students, Netherlands


VU University Amsterdam provides a small number of scholarships for exceptional international students from all countries of the world through the VU Fellowship Programme. The most important selection criteria are academic excellence and motivation. We offer three types of scholarship:

  • € 20.000: A nearly full scholarship covering tuition fee, accommodation, visa costs and part of the living expenses for Non-EER students
  • € 10.000: A scholarship covering a major part of the tuition fees for non-EER students, or a nearly full scholarship for EER students

University of Lund offers Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Biology with Emphasis on Statistical Genetics, Sweden

The research project is focused on genetic factors associated with diabetes and its complications. Work assignments include analyses of statistical analyses of whole genome association data (GWAS) as well as data from DNA exome sequencing. A central part will be devoted to the analyses of the data. Work assignments also include own scientific work and supervision.

PhD degree, no earlier than three years before the date of advertisement (max 3 years). This period is extended correspondingly by parental leave, clinical service, and certain commissions of trust.

The candidate should have PhD degree in an appropriate area. Particular importance is given to scientific excellence in the field of statistical genetics and/or bioinformatics. Prior experience in the GWAS data and expression data using microarrays is required. Experience in the analyzing next generation sequencing data is highly desirable. Applicant should enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment, excel in their interpersonal skills, and pay attention to details. The applicant should also have demonstrated skills in conducting an independent research work and scientific writing. The ability to cooperate and take initiatives, accuracy and flexibility are also an advantage.
